This link below is to an Audio Excerpt from Chapter Two of “Look Back In Love” titled “Family Matters”, with a triple meaning. Chapter One covers how my childhood first girlfriend and wife, and our two sons loved each other though the storm clouds from my in-laws hovered over us. It also introduces the guys I sing with in a home-grown vocal group, the Reflections, and how our first recording became a huge hit on WLS in nearby Chicago, and was consequently destroyed by an inept record producer/label owner.

Chapter Two takes place three months later in the aftermath of a hapless attempt to turn the group into a band and the disastrous effect it had on my marriage. The other singers, my only friends, have gone to California to seek their fortune and I’m reduced to sleeping in my old bedroom at my parents’ home. I’m determined to become a ‘normal’ person and put all my dreams and schemes behind me. But it’s said that if you want to make God laugh, make plans. Fate, and surprisingly, my parents had a different idea; the results were nothing short of miraculous. Listen here to the conversation with my parents and how that outcome changed my life. If you like it please make a comment either here or at YouTube and pass it on. Thanks. http://youtu.be/TxOyWNDkyKU

It was nice to hear from Jason Odd who manages the RAD DOLL CLUB and Classic California Venues: https://www.facebook.com/pages/RAG-DOLL-CLUB-And-Classic-California-Venues/275297239213562. We, Stark Naked and the Car Thieves considered the Doll our home club when we were in southern California. Much of the storyline of the book runs through that club and it’s nice to browse the great collection of pictures from before it was a rock club. It has a long and vibrant history.
